So who am I? ย Well I am many things… but first and foremost I am a MOM. I have two wonderful children aged three and five that I adore. I am full time mom that tries to squeeze work into our crazy schedules. I am not perfect. I make mistakes. I forget lunch boxes. I am often impatient. I loose things. I have a messy house. I misplace library books. I sometimes forget who is in charge. But… despite all these things, I love my family and I truly believe that I am a GOOD MOM.

My family? My husband of seven years, John, is a wonderful man. He tolerates my tiredness, moodiness and well often annoying personality traits. Despite working long shift work hours, he is the most patient, good hearted person I know. Oh… and a great father. My oldest son James loves the outdoors and is quite fascinated with anything to do with nature. He is also afraid of most things…school buses, new environments, santa, the easter bunny and well most things outside his comfort zone. On the other hand, my youngest daughter Jocelyn loves doing her makeup, painting her nails, dancing and well isn’t afraid of anyone or anything. Oh, and just in case you are wondering why I throw a ‘u’ into many words like ‘colour’… we are proud Canadians!

So that’s the summary. My name is Janet Casey and despite the eye rolls, whispers and stares I might get when my son is having an anxiety attack at soccer, or my daughter is having a temper tantrum on the floor of the grocery store… I believe that I am a GOOD MOM.

  2. Great and empowering choice for a web site! Glad to have found you ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ll visit again soon….let me know if you ever decide to add other bloggers to your site…..as part of the mom mission – I’d be delighted to participate in a link up or guest post, etc.

    • Thanks Erika. I have a lot of ideas of having moms participate on the the site, so I will definitely let you know. I’ve just started in the past week and am still improving the site and trying to gain readership, but stay tuned!!!

  3. Love the whole premise of your blog. I recently switched my blog to a different name because I wanted to be more “real” about motherhood and not just share all the perfect moments which I had been doing for 5 years of blogging. I was always afraid to blog about the crappy days in motherhood. It’s been very liberating for me. I love all the encouragement I get from other moms, too. Will be following. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thanks so much. Wow, five years of blogging…I just checked out your blog and love it. I really like the ‘real’ aspect of some mommy blogs. It makes me feel like I’m not alone when I see other posts that showcase similar experiences and can interact with other moms.

  4. Hi Janet,
I just read your blog, your son sounds just like my son when he was little. We went through a lot of things when he was younger. And yes people can be very opinionated when it comes to behaviors. And Yes you are a good mom. I would love to chat with you and share what our outcome was. Love your blog. Also wondered if you do any advertising on your blog.
